DMCA & Copyright Policy
Frenz respects the intellectual property of others and expects its community to do the same. We respond to clear notices of alleged copyright infringement under the U.S. Digital Millennium Copyright Act (DMCA) and will remove or disable access to infringing material. We also terminate the accounts of repeat infringers.
Reporting infringement inside Frenz
If you have a Frenz account, the fastest way to flag stolen or infringing content is the Report action on any clip, video, or profile, choose “Copyright / stolen content.” This sends it to our moderation team. For a formal legal takedown (for example, if you are the rights holder and want content removed under the DMCA), send a written notice as described below.
Filing a DMCA takedown notice
To submit a notice of claimed infringement, send a written communication to our Designated Agent (below) that includes all of the following. Incomplete notices may not be actionable.
- A physical or electronic signature of the copyright owner, or a person authorized to act on their behalf.
- Identification of the copyrighted work claimed to have been infringed (or a representative list, if multiple works).
- Identification of the material claimed to be infringing, with enough detail for us to locate it, include the full Frenz URL(s) (e.g. the clip or video link).
- Your contact information: name, mailing address, telephone number, and email address.
- A statement that you have a good-faith belief that the use is not authorized by the copyright owner, its agent, or the law.
- A statement, made under penalty of perjury, that the information in your notice is accurate and that you are the copyright owner or authorized to act on their behalf.
Designated Copyright Agent
Send DMCA notices to: dmca@frenz.gg. Please put “DMCA Notice” in the subject line.
Counter-notification
If your content was removed and you believe it was a mistake or misidentification, you may send a counter-notification to the same agent. It must include your signature, identify the removed material and its former location, and include a statement under penalty of perjury that you have a good-faith belief the material was removed by mistake, along with your name, address, phone number, and your consent to the jurisdiction of the federal court for your district (or, if outside the U.S., any district in which Frenz may be found). If we receive a valid counter-notice, we may restore the content unless the original complainant files a court action.
Repeat infringers
Accounts that are the subject of repeated, valid infringement notices will be terminated.
