What's new
Everything we ship, as we ship it. Frenz updates roll out continuously, so check back often.
July 12, 2026
- Link your Steam. Connect Steam in Settings (App & account) and your frenz see what you're playing right on your status, the way Discord shows it. Works while you're on Frenz with your Steam game details set to public.
- Link your Spotify. Same idea for music: connect Spotify in Settings and your frenz see the song you're listening to on your status. We only read the current track, nothing else, and going invisible hides it.
- Ads arrived, the fair way. Sponsored cards in the feed, a short pre-roll on videos, and ad breaks on live streams. Creators keep half of stream ad revenue and more than half on videos. Premium members see no ads anywhere, and subscribing to a creator removes ads from their whole channel. While the ad program spins up, the slots show Frenz features instead of outside brands.
- Streamers: a Run ad button. Pick 30, 60 or 90 seconds right from the broadcast page. Your subs keep watching uninterrupted, and your ad reach now shows in the Studio next to your earnings.
- Stream ads work like Twitch. New viewers get a short ad before the stream starts, and one plays when the stream ends. Subscribers skip all of it on that channel, and Premium skips ads everywhere.
- The full games directory, Twitch-style. Browse now lists every game with its box art, live channel count, and viewers, not just the ones with someone streaming. Your own games always lead, sorted by who has the biggest audience right now, and zero-viewer games stay visible so you can jump into any category.
- Box art in the game picker. Searching for a game now shows its cover next to the name, everywhere you pick a game.
- A brand new frenz.gg front page. Visitors now get the full story: what Frenz is, how tagging your squad spreads clips, voice rooms, creator payouts, and our privacy stance, with animated product previews. Log in and create account sit right up top.
- New pages for finding us. Guides on GTA 6 at Frenz, GTA 6 communities, and how creators make money here, each with a proper FAQ. You'll find them in the footer.
- What's new moved to the top bar, next to messages and notifications, so your left menu stays lean.
- A full copy cleanup. We rewrote clunky text in over 30 screens so everything reads the way it should.
- A Live tab on every profile. Streamers get a real channel home: your weekly streaming schedule (set it in Settings, Channel), your panels, and past broadcasts as a subscriber perk. While you're live, your profile banner becomes the stream (one tap opens it) and visitors land on the Live tab first.
- Streaming schedule. Tell your viewers when you go live, day by day, right from Settings, Channel.
- Panels support formatting. Bold, italics, and bullet points in panel text, so rules and specs read like a proper page.
- Stone theme. A new light theme in Appearance that sits between Silver and the dark themes: less glare, still light. The Frenz logo now follows your theme too, so it stays visible on every background.
- Tiered achievements. Chained achievements (like First Blood, Content Machine, Prolific) now share one icon and level up bronze, silver, gold, so your medal case shows the build-up at a glance.
- Notification settings, organized. Toggles are grouped into Social, Your content, Live & voice, and Achievements, so the one you want is easy to find.
- Patch notes! This page. Everything we ship now lands here, at frenz.gg/updates, linked from the sidebar under "What's new".
- Frenz on your phone got a full overhaul. Community pages now have a slide-in channel list and a members panel that actually opens on mobile, menus and pickers fit the screen, profile tabs scroll instead of cutting off, the photo editor always shows its buttons, and every control is big enough to tap. If something felt impossible to press before, try it again.
- Videos start sharp everywhere. The last cause of the blurry first seconds is gone, on every browser and every device.
- Community subscriptions are here. Community owners can create up to three paid tiers (from €2.99/month) once their community reaches 500 members, with a progress bar showing how close you are. Lock single channels or the whole community behind a tier, and give subscribers name flair in chat.
- Custom community emojis. Communities can upload their own :emoji: set and lock favorites behind subscription tiers.
- 2FA by email. Prefer not to use an authenticator app? You can now get your two-factor sign-in codes by email.
- Post from the feed. A share box now sits at the top of your feed for quick text and photo posts, and broken clip tiles no longer show up.
July 11, 2026
- Sharper starts for clips and streams. A string of playback fixes: full-resolution thumbnails and posters, smarter starting quality, and better behavior in Safari. No more grainy first seconds.
- Emails that look right everywhere. Frenz emails now render correctly in every inbox, including Outlook dark mode.
July 10, 2026
- Presence statuses. Set yourself Online, Away, Do Not Disturb, or Invisible, with the same rules you know from Discord.
- Voice quick settings. Pick your microphone and speakers, adjust volumes, and switch to push-to-talk right from the voice footer.
- Two-factor authentication. Protect your account with an authenticator app, complete with backup codes.
- Contact card. Add your real name, contact email, and phone to your profile. Private by default, with per-field control over who sees what.
- Seven new Premium profile effects, including Smoke.
- Community icons. Owners can upload and manage their community's icon.
- A fresh coat of paint on our emails, matching the Frenz brand.
July 9, 2026
- Photo posts and Stories. Share photos with an Instagram-style editor (crop, filters, adjust, text) and post 24-hour Stories to the ring row at the top of the feed.
- The video editor arrived. Cut, add text, music, blur, and color to your videos in the Studio, or use the one-tap auto edit to cut silences, pick music, and suggest a title.
- Tag your frenz on everything. Clips, videos, and posts. Tagged clips show on your frenz's profiles and reach their followers too.
- Ghost tags. Tag squadmates who aren't on Frenz yet; they claim the tag (and the clip) when they join.
- Sign in with Discord.
- @mentions everywhere. Ping people in comments, community chat, and clip titles; they get notified.
- Founding Fren badge. Early members get a numbered badge that stays on their profile forever.
- Monthly competitions. A referral leaderboard and an automatic Clip of the Month, with prizes and a hall of fame.
- Smoother feed. Videos only load while on screen, which makes scrolling faster and saves data.
July 8, 2026
- Achievements. Earn badges for milestones, show them off on your profile header, track progress, and unlock exclusive profile effects.
- Profile cards. Click any avatar for a Discord-style card with mutual frenz and shared communities.
- Community management. Owners and admins can manage roles, kick and ban, and edit channels (emoji in channel names welcome).
- Tabbed settings across account, Studio, and community management, with a sticky save bar.
- Mobile app parity. The Frenz mobile app picked up the feed, comments, search, notifications, richer profiles, and the clip viewer.
July 7, 2026
- Creator monetization went live. Subscriptions and tips for creators (90/10 split in your favor), plus Frenz Premium.
- Sub tiers and perks. T1/T2/T3 tiers, loyalty badges by months subscribed, and tier-locked emotes.
- Channel points, rewards, and the hype train. Viewers earn points while watching and spend them on rewards you define.
- Community boosts. Boost your favorite community to level it up and unlock perks; Premium+ members carry two boosts, or buy one outright.
- Live alerts + OBS overlay. Follows, subs, and tips pop on stream with a browser-source overlay for OBS.
- Emoji and GIF pickers everywhere. DMs, community channels, and rooms.
- Sub-only spaces. Communities, channels, and videos can be gated to a creator's subscribers, and streams can flip subs-only mid-broadcast.
- Voice notes and room text chat.
- Community stickers. Boosted communities unlock custom sticker slots.
July 6, 2026
- Rooms are now invite-only group calls, the Discord group-DM model: start a room, pull your squad in, talk while you play.
- One Create button. Clip, video, post, or go live from a single menu.
- Draft-first publishing. Uploads land as drafts so nothing goes public before you're ready.
- Hide comments on your own content, Instagram-style.
- Desktop recorder reliability. A string of fixes so the record button always works.
July 5, 2026
- Noise suppression in voice. Background noise (fans, keyboards, roommates) filtered out of your mic.
- File sharing in DMs and community channels.
- Screen-share picker. Choose exactly which window or screen to share, Discord-style.
- Invite links. Personal referral links that credit you when frenz join.
- Nav rework. Discord-style user footer with quick mute/deafen and sidebar shortcuts.
- Silent desktop updates. The desktop app now updates itself in the background.
July 4, 2026
- The feed got honest. Following shows the people you follow, For You recommends based on your games, Trending is what's actually hot.
